Reviews

Herzog, Virginia Journal of International Law
The book is concise. . . . A very real contribution to the literature of international law, and an important source of basic research data. It should be purchased by all libraries collecting materials in the field of international law.

Hazard, Vanderbilt Law Review
Not only is the presentation exhaustive . . . but the translations of the resulting decisions provide welcome additional materials that are necessary in charting developments in international law. This work certainly supplies valuable information in an area previously lacking sufficient sources.

Manzig, Canadian Yearbook of International Law
The author is to be complimented on this book. . . . It is a noteworthy contribution to international law documentation and to the literature on international tribunals and dispute-settlement procedure.

Alexandrowicz, Indian Yearbook
The author has produced an admirable work which will be of interest to international as well as to comparative lawyers.

Law Books in Review
This . . . text is a valuable addition to the scarce material studying the work of arbitral tribunals and merits close study by international and comparative lawyers. It would be a fine addition to any law library.

White, British Year Book of International Law
It is a work of fine legal craftsmanship which merits the attention of those whose interest may not be aroused by the. . . title. . . . The Procedural Aspects of International Law Institute is to be congratulated on enabling this work to reach a wider public. Professor Seidl-Hohenveldern has made a notable contribution to the literature of international economic law and to the law of treaty interpretation.

Rousseau, Revue Générale de Droit International Public (translation)
This work constitutes the eleventh volume of the excellent Procedural Aspects of International Law Series whose merits we have discussed several times. . . . Without reservation it is nondebatable that this work is serious, its author having spent two years in effective on-site research. . ., [t]his [is a] remarkable work. . . .

California Western Law Journal
The book contains an excellent analysis of the unique dispute settlement provisions of the treaty and an equally fine description of the substantive international law issues which it generated.

Das, University of Pittsburgh Law Review
[This) publication even in summary form provides valuable source material for the international lawyer. . . . The book also has an excellent index and bibliography.

Thode, German Yearbook of International Law (translation)
[A] brilliant example of an inductive case study in the field of public international law.

Mann, International and Comparative Law Quarterly
Professor Seidl-Hohenveldern has done a great service by publishing this book on a 'dispute settlement procedure . . . which practically has passed unnoticed by the world at large.' That he has written in the English language requires special emphasis and deserves special gratitude. His careful review of the contribution which the Arbitral Tribunal made to the development of the law is likely to provide much instruction.
